Forgot to make a comment but those are 'sneeballs' in the bakery window....used to be made out of the old dough that wasn't used to ensure they got as much worth out of the limited food supply as possible. Now they are super touristy and they cover them with carmel, sugar, chocolate, anything you can think of to make them more appealing. Sort of similar to the American doughnut or fried dough.
